Is Ringworm Contagious?
Ringworm can spread through direct contact withinfected people or animals. You can also pick it up off clothing or furniture. Heat and humidity can help spread the infection.Tinea corporis or ringworm is a skin infection caused by a fungus that lives on dead tissues, such as the skin, hair, and nails. Kids and teens get more warts than adults because their immune systems haven’t built up defenses against the many types of HPV. People with weakened immune systems — like those with HIV or who are taking biological drugs for conditions like RA, psoriasis, and IBD — are also more susceptible to getting warts because their bodies may not be able to fight them off.
